Marketing Manager
Salary Range: 70,000 – 80,000 CAD
Summary
The Marketing Manager will play a key role in elevating Hackergal’s national presence by developing and executing a bold, innovative marketing strategy. This position blends creativity with strategy, using storytelling, digital engagement, and community building to amplify Hackergal’s impact.
You’ll lead multi-channel marketing campaigns, oversee content creation, optimize digital engagement, and use data-driven decision-making to refine strategies and maximize reach. In this role, creativity and execution are in tandem!
Strategic Leadership & Brand Growth
- Develop and execute a multi-year marketing strategy that aligns with Hackergal’s growth ambitions.
- Establish and oversee a brand awareness framework, ensuring consistency and impact across all channels.
- Position Hackergal as a thought leader in paving the way for stronger representation of gender diversity in technology, leveraging storytelling, media, and partnerships.
- Set, track, and oversee key marketing KPIs, ensuring alignment with Hackergal’s strategic goals and adjusting initiatives based on performance data.
- Use data insights to continuously refine marketing strategies, measure impact, and identify growth opportunities.
Data-Driven Campaigns & Digital Engagement
- Design and implement high-impact, data-informed marketing campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and participation in Hackergal’s programs, events, and initiatives.
- Leverage data analytics to measure the effectiveness of digital campaigns and optimize traffic, conversions, and audience engagement. Tweak strategies based on performance insights.
- Lead the development of engaging digital content for platforms like X, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, LinkedIn, and newsletters, with set targets for each platform.
- Implement A/B testing, performance tracking, and user engagement metrics to refine content and campaign effectiveness.
- Track and analyze marketing performance metrics, using Google Analytics, social media insights, and other marketing tools to refine strategies in real time.
- Seek out and oversee influencer partnerships, ensuring strong ROI and alignment with Hackergal’s mission.
Communications
- Develop compelling copywriting for blogs, newsletters, the website, social media, and other communication projects.
- Support media relations, including press releases, key messaging, speeches, and public reports.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Oversee progress toward marketing goals, regularly reporting on KPIs and providing recommendations to improve outcomes.
- Provide mentorship, support, and strategic oversight to the Marketing & Communications Coordinator.
- Serve as the in-house expert on marketing and communications, working closely with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
- Manage external vendors (ie, graphic designers, website technical specialists) to ensure high-quality creative output.
- Represent Hackergal at key events and initiatives, which may collaboration across time zones (locally, provincially, or nationally).
Other
- We are a team-oriented organization that values collaboration and mutual support, so additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
- May require some travel from time to time either locally, provincially, or nationally to support Hackergal key initiatives (i.e. Hackathon).

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, report writing, editing, proofreading, storytelling abilities and presentation skills and the ability to publish high quality detailed oriented work. Your ability to communicate our mission in an exciting and meaningful way will be essential in making Hackergal a household name across Canada!
- Ability to analyze data, specifically as it relates to social media and google analytics
- Ability to oversee a project from start to finish, demonstrating leadership, organization, and collaboration while maintaining high standards Professional level capabilities.
- Financial acumen, and the ability to manage a modest budget
- Professional level technical abilities with various marketing programs (mail chimp, canva, adobe etc.
- Ability to coach and mentor others in a positive and uplifting manner
