An exciting opportunity has come up on the Hackergal Programs Team!!! The Educator Engagement Lead will lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of coding and digital skill education programming for K-12 educators. This role focuses on equipping teachers with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to effectively engage and inspire girls in coding and technology-related activities using Hackergal’s curriculum and Hackathon program model. We are looking for an educator/trainer who knows how to code, who is passionate about building and sustaining relationships, and loves coaching/mentoring others! This is a new role! What You’ll Be Doing:Professional Development & Support:Develop and nurture relationships with key education stakeholders, including teachers, pre-service teachers, community volunteers, and librarians, across Canada to foster collaboration and participation in Hackergal’s programs.Support the development and implementation of outreach strategies that increase educator participation in professional development opportunities, including targeted communication and outreach to schools, libraries, and educational networks.Leverage curriculum on the Hackergal Hub to develop onboarding and comprehensive professional development programs related to digital skills and specifically coding for teachers, pre-service teachers, community volunteers, and librarians, aligned with Hackergal’s mission and goals.Provide ongoing support to educators through coaching, mentoring, and resource-sharing related to the implementation of Hackergal’s programs.Onboard and support school districts, post-secondary institutions, educational partners, and other stakeholders with the promotion and integration of Hackergal’s programs into schools.Develop and maintain an online community for educators to share experiences, challenges, and success stories.Track and maintain organized records and documentation of all relevant stakeholder information and interactions to ensure effective communication, facilitate smooth program operations and support strategic decision-making.Respond to inquiries and provide technical assistance as needed to ensure the successful implementation of Hackergal programs in classrooms.Collaborate with Hackathon Program Manager and wider Programs Team to align professional development programs with broader departmental and organizational goals.Travel locally or nationally to deliver teacher training workshops and annual in-school programming (i.e. Hackergal Hackathon).Monitoring and Evaluation:Develop and implement strategies to assess the effectiveness of teacher training programs, including collecting feedback via phone calls, debrief meetings, and surveys.Prepare reports on training outcomes and share insights with the Hackergal team and external stakeholders.Track and meet key performance indicators (KPIs) related to teacher training and  stakeholder satisfaction.Other: We are a team-oriented organization that values collaboration and mutual support, so additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.There may be occasional weekend/evening work to support our extracurricular programming. Some travel may be required either locally or nationally to support program delivery. Located in the Greater Toronto or Greater Montreal area What You Bring:Passion for encouraging more girls* and gender diverse individuals to pursue computer science and for fostering a more diverse and inclusive technology landscape in Canada. Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility promoting a respectful program, working and learning environment.Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field preferred.Experience in education, with a focus on technology integration.  Knowledge of Scratch, HTML/CSS, and/or Python!Experience working in diverse educational settings and understanding of the unique challenges faced by K-12 educators.Strong knowledge of STEAM education and passion for gender equity in technology.Experience collaborating with external partners.Bilingual in English and French is an asset.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.The Perks!Two weeks paid vacationSeven personal days December end of year closure (typically last two weeks) Paid birthday day offHealth and dental benefits If located in Toronto - Hybrid work arrangement (typically one day in office per week)in a Toronto tech hub (our office!!): DMZIf you require an accommodation for our interview process, please contact careers@hackergal.org.*Hackergal is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion.
