Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Hackergal is looking for a Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join our small but mighty team! We are looking for the next marketing star to take our social media channels to the next level. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator will work on Hackergal’s marketing team to amplify our brand and drive awareness and engagement for our programs. She/he/they will be responsible for coordinating and executing the digital marketing strategy and building awareness and engagement on Hackergal’s online platforms. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design, plan, and implement digital marketing campaigns and communications on all of Hackergal’s social media accounts. 
  • Take the lead on growing Hackergal’s social media presence by pitching and creating content, with an emphasis on TikTok, Instagram and Twitter. 
  • Plan and execute the delivery and content for email marketing campaigns such as newsletters.
  • Generate awareness and interest in Hackergal’s programs, special projects, and/or events through innovative marketing strategies. 
  • Measure the impact and effectiveness of campaigns through analytics, insights and reporting tools across all social media channels.
  • Support with copywriting for blog, website, and other communication projects.
  • Develop cross-promotional online initiatives to deliver high-impact marketing and communication for Hackergal’s educational programs and partner relations.
  • Coordinate PR and media coverage, and analyze performance and conversions as needed. 
  • Develop media releases, speeches, key messages, media pitches, and public reports as needed.
  • Other digital marketing duties as assigned


What You Bring

  • A passion for our mission to change the technology landscape in Canada and encourage more young women to pursue computer science and STEAM.
  • Experience with graphic design and using Canva. 
  • Experience with WordPress and MailChimp. 
  • Mission-driven and excited to engage with partners, donors, and community organizations to align on related goals and objectives.
  • Experience with communications, social media, and stakeholder relationships, preferably in a not-for-profit or agency environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, self-starter with high attention to detail. 
  • Task-oriented, highly organized, with a results-oriented attitude.
  • Comfortable prioritizing multiple projects under competing deadlines.
  • Goal-oriented individual with the ability to understand a strategic plan and present ideas. 
  • Comfortable suggesting ideas and strategies to the team, Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to self-edit and manage one’s own work; demonstrated ability to complete a project from start to finish.


Desired But Not Required

  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Bilingual (French-English)
